Austin has an olive complexion that varies from season to season on it’s overall darkness or paleness. He tends to stay more on the pale side from being in his room most of the time. His hair stays a natural soft brown. If he ever did die it, it was to add subtle highlights. Austin isn’t one of the most extravagant of people, but that’s what makes him oddly attractive. His eyes are hazel in color; in the light they have hints of amber. He’s more than happy with the way he looks and but he's not about to go and flaunt what he’s got. He's a fairly frecklely kid, if you ever saw him without his shirt on. It only gets worse in the summer months when his tan bring it out just a little more. His face is also fairly thin and has a defined set of checks.
One thing he likes most about his face would be his clear complexion. He really dislikes it when other people don't take good care of themselves so it's only appropriate that he's not a hypocrite and that he should take care of himself first. Like they say, your body is a temple. Smoking pot and cigarettes doesn't help his case too much, but he wouldn't stop what he enjoys. His clean skin also accents his bright white smile. He's a bit of a freak when it comes to keeping his teeth clean. He would brush his teeth nonstop if he could. They're straight and have never had a cavity.
Austin works out at least three times a week. With that in mind, he’s pretty fit. His lungs might not agree to that. However, he has a well toned and sculpted body. Being at home, he doesn't have much else to do. Austin just likes to work out too, don’t get him wrong. He stands around five foot nine and weighs about one hundred and thirty pounds. Most of his weight is found in his muscles so he doesn’t really care. As long as he can see the six pack, he knows he’s not doing anything wrong. But, he doesn't really seem to have any really defined muscle mass. Austin still looks like a lanky kid for the most part, even though he could probably kick your ass if he was provoked enough.
Austin wears whatever it is he feels like wearing. Usually that consists of a hoodie, a t-shirt, and some straight legged jeans. He might accessorize a little, a watch or something small and insignificant. He wears a lot of nicer and well kept clothes. Austin likes looking good. So wearing some designer looking clothes is part of his wear. He’s not a stylist, and he will never claim to be. When he’s at home though, he’s probably just wearing boxers or sweats and a possibly a t-shirt. His closet isn’t huge, nor is it diverse. He relies most on his female sibilings to dress him appropriately, but he can dress himself. He really loves to go shopping with his sister and brother though, it makes him feel a little less hermit like.

personality,
likes: solitude, sun, a good book, his room, music, guitar, relaxing at home, cigarettes, pot, school, fire, mexican food, girls, his mom’s sugar cookies, art, smart people, writing, television, picking on his brother and sister, taunting his mother, playing hookie.[/blockquote]
dislikes: stupid girls, cats, broken things, reading an entire book to get to a crappy ending, harry potter, paint, his parents having loud obnoxious sex, dirty diapers, baby puke, nikki’s face, doing laundry, burnt eggs, holes in his clothes, losing, being bothered, weird people, stupid school assignments.
strengths: beating his brother at guitar hero, english assignments, reading people, being a dick to his sibilings, a sense of humour, reliable, loyal, playing guitar.
weaknesses: hates admitting defeat, hates being wrong, a good cookie, his brothers kid’s, pot, a pack of marlboro, music.
secrets: Austin stole a couple of porn magazines from his dad. Whether his dad knows or not isn’t really discussed since neither would want to get in trouble with his mother. Now, he just reads his mom’s harlequin books when she’s not home.
Everyone in the Barker household knows how much Austin loves Jason’s kids, but no one really understands just how much. If he were to be completely honest, Austin would have to admit that he is jealous of Jason having Madison and Riley. Although he keeps to himself for the most part, for some reason, he feels like he can connect better with his niece and nephew than anyone else. Austin get’s really frustrated when he overhears Jason talking about his kids like they were mistakes in his life, when really; Austin finds them to be absolutely amazing.
Austin writes letters and songs for/to the people around him, unfortunately for some people, they’ll never get to hear them. He generally throws out those works as soon as he has finished writing them, or he puts them in a box at the back of his closet where people wouldn’t dare snooping.
He’ll tell everyone that it was a prank gift from either his brother or his sister; nevertheless, Austin has a pole dancer alarm clock. But, he normally doesn’t let anyone especially friends into his room so not many people know this or get to see this elusive clock.
personality summary:
Sensitive
Even though Austin can be seen as a dick to people, he does have a sensitive side that most people don’t get to see. This sensitive side helps him with his writing and songs. It also helps him when dealing with his overly cramped family situation. With two parents, five kids, and two babies, things get a little tense in the house. He tries to help out his brother as much as he can with his kids, but it doesn’t relieve all the tension in his house. You could call him a buffer; he tries to make light of things and calm the rest of the family down from killing one another. He’s also the bearer of bad news. Or if someone wants to tell their parents something, Austin’s usually in the room to help break the tension and lessen the punishment.
Caring
Austin is an awesome friend. He’s like the never failing loyal pooch. He’ll listen without interrupting and Austin always has their backs. He’s been in enough fights to know which are worth it, and friends are definitely in that category. You can count on Austin to be there when you’re in trouble – debt, gangster, school work, emotional breakdowns. You name it and he’s there. The only thing that could possibly come before friends would be his family, or rather his brother and his children. He’s an easy-going guy that you just can’t help but be friends with. Austin has that relaxed aura about himself that just draws people toward him like a magnet. He’s also a social mingler, meaning, he doesn’t just hang out with just one said stereotyped group. One day he may hang out with the art kids, next the jocks, who knows may be he’d even go and chill with the teachers if he was given the chance. He’s really the multipurpose guy as long as they don't prove themselves to be dumbasses.
Sarcastic
It’s a trait that most of his family has, inherited from his mother. Although someone could take his sarcastic remarks as rude, mark him as a dick, he really couldn’t care. His sense of humour isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. If he doesn’t like you though, you’ll be sure to know it. He does tend to have a bit of a catty tone when he talks to you. Austin just loves to fool around with people. Literally, and not so literally. You have to take what he says in contexts because chances are he’s not being serious if he calls you a whore or a dumb bitch. If he hurts someone’s feelings while in the act, he won’t apologize unless it was really uncalled for. If he likes you though, he’ll probably make it up to you later. He doesn’t like pissing off people that he likes on purpose, but it happens. If they can’t handle it, then they’re not worth his time.
Introverted
Austin likes to keep to himself. He really doesn’t like the majority of Ridgewood just because they’re all the same type of people. They’re all loud and obnoxious teenagers who really have no clue what they’re doing with their lives. Not that he knows what he’s doing, but he doesn’t go about acting like a jackass and that he knows everything there either. Austin is a very bright guy. He wouldn’t have been able to get away with half the things he has if he wasn’t smarter than you’re stereotypical college jock. He’s a good manipulator, and a smooth talker. Austin is quick witted and things rarely catch him off guard. He works through his problems logically and decisively. There’s no grey area for the majority of the situations he finds himself in. He’s good at basic math, but English and oral speech is where he performs best in.

history summary:
the beginning.
As the story goes, Austin's parents met at some magical band camp when they were really young. May be they were the right kind of nerdy for each other, none of the kids really know. However, why they all clearly realize is that something between their parents clicked and made them; all five of them. This band camp meeting happened for a long time, every summer they would meet up and have a good time. Then every summer they would have to say good bye again. Eventually, Beth ended up moving to Ridgewood, as luck would have it and so her and Martin were able to spend more time together. They got hitched up and that would be the creation of Teale, their first daughter. After a few years, and a kitchen counter later, their baby boy Jason was born. Much to their parents delight.
welcoming the twins.
It may not have seemed that great, but, Beth was now onto her third pregnancy. Most mom's around this time would be calling it quits. The average household only has one and a half kids anways, right? Appointment after appointment, Beth and Martin never thought they'd end up having twins. The sonograms were never clear enough for them to be able to see the two babies. But, they were there, and when Beth was becoming bigger than a regular one child belly, they knew there wasn't just one kid inside there. After giving birth to the children, it was quiet obvious that these two were going to be very different from one another. Thankfully for them, they were fraternal twins and didn't really look too much like each other anyways.
schooling.
Austin was already fond of learning new things. While his twin would be off galavanting around showing off a new toy or that she could lick her elbow, Austin would sit back and finish his fourth puzzle. He stayed closer to his older brother Jason, admiring him and pretty much following him around like a sidekick. When elementary school came around, he was a pretty quiet kid - still. He would sit at the back of the class, just watching everyone else since his homework was completed. Austin was always quick to learn new concepts, except for keeping his mouth shut when other kids were being bullied. He didn't stick up for his sister, considering for the most part she deserved it. When he spoke though, people listened, since he didn't speak out often. Middle school was pretty much the same for him as well. Nothing too much out of the norm, he descovered the female gender in a new light, and he was still really quiet and shy.
addictions.
Austin just sat back and watched his family. Teale wasn't ever getting into too much trouble, Nikki wasn't really his twin at all, and the one person he looked up to the most wasn't really the role model material anymore. He saw as Jason would bring home girl after girl, not to mention his drunkness. So like any little brother would do, Austin followed in his brother's footsteps. He just happened to be a little quieter about it. Austin fooled around with a few girls, but he felt a little bad about it after worlds and he quickly found out that drinking wasn't his thing. For a lack of a better word, Austin was too much of a lush for his own good and too much of a lightweight. However, cigarettes and pot seemed to sit with him just fine. His mother was pretty angry when she found the first, then third pack of cigarettes in his room. By the time the eleventh and then eighteenth pack was found, she just figured she'd stop snooping. So Austin now had now found an outlet for himself, for vexing and boredom.
woah twins, again.
When news broke that Jason had knocked up that Cooper girl, all hell broke loose. His mother and father were very short of pleased and as much begging and pleading as Austin did for Jason, behind the scenes, nothing really helped him out. He felt really bad for Jason, he was of course his older brother. Bad habits and all, he still loved him and had his back. When the mother of his children left him though, kids in his arms, he felt even worse. His brother had no clue what to do with his twin kids and really, what seventeen year old did. Austin was really annoyed with them at first. Maddy and Riley smelled, they never stopped crying, they puked, they were sick, and they were just a pain in the ass. At one point, he really just wished that Jason got rid of them so that he could get some sleep.
life as we know it.
The twins grew on Austin, despite finding twenty-four hour solitude in his room. He hated to admit it, but they really were the cutest things he had ever seen. He watched them grow and soon enough they could talk and run around naked, terrorizing their father. Austin was a little more easy-going when it came to helping Jason out with his kids, and being left alone with them sort of started to become an option. Austin started to like the idea of being an Uncle to them. Spending time with the kids had taken a small toll on his school work though; the same with the pot he was sure. He was getting high 90's still in his english and music courses, math was beginning to sag a little, and he really couldn't have cared about the others. Austin knew he'd still go under his parents radar as long as he wasn't like his twin. Drinking, partying, and acting like a tard, in his opinion anyways.
