FULL NAME: Kacey May James NICKNAMES: Kace, Kay, James. (Prefers Kace) GENDER: Female AGE: 17 BIRTHDAY: April 1st ORIENTATION: Heterosexual MEMBER GROUP: Senior
HAIR COLOR: brown EYE COLOR: Blue/green HEIGHT: 5’5’’ WEIGHT: 127 lbs BODY TYPE: Slender DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: Kacey’s bright eyes contrast with her olive complexion and are usually the first thing to catch another’s attention. PERSONAL STYLE: Casual. To be frank, Kacey throws on whatever she can actually find in her disaster of a room. You can find her nine times out of ten in jeans and a t-shirt, if not shorts and a tank top. She isn’t concerned with the latest trends, she doesn’t give a flying fig neuton if skinny jeans are “in” or not. Kacey could care less about trends and how outdated a piece of clothing is. One might say that her personal style is undefined as she could walk into school one day with a Fox Riders hoodie and jeans, and then show up the next in a floral printed blouse and suspenders. If she likes it you can count on the fact that Kacey will add the article of clothing to her closet, and if it’s comfortable it’s a done deal. Don’t think that Kacey always looks like a total bum though; she does make sure she matches and has a few favorite items, but on the whole it is very rare that she will get dressed up and be the belle of the ball. Is abused by her step-father, but because he is the bread winner of the household her mother does nothing to stop it. Sleeps with her teddy bear at night. Is scared to fall in love. Is reckless to spite her family. PERSONALITY SUMMARY: LOUD – Kacey is loud by nature. It isn’t just that her voice carries, she just hates having an “inside voice”. She is very expressive and honest so if she has something on her mind, you will most likely hear it. More often than not her far-too-honest comments land her in trouble and it is a big reason as to why her step-father starting hitting her. Kacey’s mind has virtually no filter and her words slip out of her mouth without thought. She has come a long way and is able to control it, but for the most part she chooses not to. STUBBORN – Kace is the baby of the family; she is used to getting her way and being right virtually all of the time. She doesn’t have a need to be right unless it is with someone she detests or if she is at home, but the girl doesn’t like to be wrong either. She is very stuck in her ways and her beliefs and it is incredibly hard to change her mind on something when she has already settled on an idea. ARGUMENTATIVE – Kacey likes to start arguments. Most people like to avoid confrontation but Kacey loves it and in some way she almost thrives off of it. She enjoys instigating an issue and causing problems between groups of girls at school and being able to add in her peanut gallery comments. At home she likes starting fights between her mother and step father because she feels that she is spiting her mother for not sticking up for her and is causing her step father excess trouble he doesn’t want. RECKLESS – Kacey has been told many a time that she is reckless to the point of destruction. If she wants to steal a street sign-she does. If she wants to go get black out drunk-she does. If she wants to smoke pot and chain smoke-she does. You get the picture right? Kacey is the idiot you see walking across the street in traffic, sleeping on someones lawn, and spray painting walls at school. Secretly, Kacey acts out as a cry for attention at home because if she isn’t the cause of a fight or she isn’t being beaten, she is out of sight and out of mind. Not to mention, she finds a thrill like no other when she’s doing something she shouldn’t. She likes being known as a badass and one girl you just don’t want to fuck with. VULNERABLE – Deep, deep down inside of Kacey there is a very fragile and scared girl. She doesn’t feel loved at home and in reality she is scared of falling in love. She avoids thinking that one of her stupid stunts could be her last and that sooner or later, she will have to grow up. Underneath all the layers of pure badass-ness, Kacey is just a girl with a very unfortunate life.
NATIONALITY: French, Italian, Maltese, Romanian, British, Irish HOMETOWN: West Hartford, CT PARENTS: Eric William James, would be 48, (biological father, deceased) Stephanie Christine Adams, 46 years old, Librarian David Thomas Adams, 49 years old, Lawyer (step-father) SIBLINGS: Christopher Jacob James, older brother OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE: none. HISTORY SUMMARY: A different setting: Kacey May James was born into the world on April 1st to Stephanie and Eric James. They were the kind of parents that were so full of love that they would do anything for their children, and they were delighted to have a beautiful baby girl. Kacey grew up with her brother in West Hartford, Connecticut, a town based on status and privilege. Both children were quick learners, full of love, and were quite inquisitive. Kacey was always the louder of the two and had more demands than her older and more reserved brother, but their parents still attended to each of their needs. For a lack of better words they were the ideal picturesque family; they spent time together, went on family outings, and always sent out a Christmas card. It wasn’t until Kacey turned eight that tragedy struck the close knit family and Eric was killed by a drunk driver one night. Depressed and quite literally a mess, Stephanie moved her small family to New Jersey to be closer to her family and to run from her home of empty memories. Change of pace: It wasn’t long after Eric’s death that Stephanie met David and found herself engaged to him. By this time the children were only a few years older, Kacey being about 12. It was clear from the beginning that David and Kacey did not get along. He would threaten her verbally when her mother left the room and as the wedding date for Stephanie and David approached things got much worse. By the time Kacey was 14, she was being slapped, punched, and shoved on a regular basis by her step-father and her mother made it clear that she wasn’t about to do anything about it as David was the one paying the bills. It was almost overnight that Kacey transformed herself from a wallflower to a badass as she felt slighted and in need of revenge. Revenge not only on her mother for her lack of care and assistance, but a more subtle revenge on David. Transforming became her way of saying that she didn’t give a fuck how hard he wailed on her tiny frame, not only could she take the beating—but she would go back to spiting him the moment it was done. One day she was tutoring other students and the next she was skipping class and getting suspended. Her recklessness is both not appreciated in her household and under constant scrutiny, but now she could hardly care less. Kacey does whatever she wants, whenever she wants and that is that.
NAME: Sam AGE: 18 GENDER: Female YEARS ROLEPLAYING: Eight OTHER CHARACTERS: None TIME ZONE: Eastern MINIMUM WORD COUNT: personal min. is 600 ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: Mackenzie’s childhood was emotionally troublesome, to say the least. As a fact, children with troubled childhoods carry negative behavioral patterns into their adulthood. Mackenzie was not an adult, but the behavioral patterns she was carrying around in her teenage years were not far off from when she was below double digits. In a way Mackenzie had always found herself to be like a twisted version of Rapunzel. She wasn’t the princess that was taken and locked away at birth, but the opposite. Her parents had locked their little princess away to live and learn on her own. In a sense, Mackenzie was out of sight and out of mind.
As a child, her parent’s lack of love caused her tremendous grief and sorrow, and many a tear filled night. She would often question why she was left out in the cold while Alexander basked in the sunshine of their love. What had she possibly done to deserve the treatment she received from the people that were supposed to love her most? It wasn’t until she had overheard one of her parent’s conversations that Mackenzie learned that her existence was something that Jack and Camille were nearly inconvenienced by. This idea was hard for Mackenzie to understand at such a young age. At the time, she was simply not mature enough to understand. But as she grew, the reality of that conversation consumed her.
Mack always felt that if she did something right her parent’s would finally appreciate her. That if she was to excel at something they would notice her and be proud of the little girl they created; but this wasn’t entirely true. Jack Burton hardly remembered his daughter, and Camille was simply against abortion and adoption. Jack and Camille didn’t have any interest in Mackenzie’s grades or talents. They didn’t want to be bothered by parent-teacher conferences and open houses for school. There was never a time where Jack and Camille felt as if they needed to coddle her from the dangers of the world. They were too busy with their careers and first child to consider Mackenzie. And even though Mackenzie consciously knew all of these things she still craved their attention.
The young girl was simply tired of living her life in the background, so when she entered high school, she found it made the most sense to reinvent herself. Getting the attention in school was not hard. Mackenzie knew that dressing less than conservatively would put herself out there. Then she started to party, and when she partied she almost always hooked up with a guy and did something stupid with her friends. But even this didn’t grab her parent’s attention. So Mackenzie knew she had to go bigger. She started cat fights, keyed a car or two, broke her arm cliff diving, broke into the bank, got caught speeding, and still Jack and Camille had no intent to care. Where her parents didn’t give her attention, her peers did. Suddenly, Mack had gone from cute and sweet in middle school to a badass bombshell in high school. Tons of people knew her from her reputation as a party girl, and that attention kept Mack going. She liked being noticed and cared about, just two of the things she never was at home.
With all of that out in the open, so to speak, there were points in Mackenzie’s life where she suffered from small bouts of depression. Usually, she became depressed around Christmas vacation and the beginning of summer, the two times where she was mostly stuck at home because everyone she knew was traveling. Then of course, there was her birthday. Mack had a hard time coping around these times of year because while everyone else was feeding off of their families love, she was alone. She had never had a family Christmas party to attend, a family reunion to dread, or a birthday party. She carries such a deep longing to feel loved and to have someone to talk to, but Mackenzie has never been able to let people in. By letting people in, she was giving them the chance to hurt her, and that wasn’t something she was willing to do. Mackenzie felt like no one could understand her and all the pain and envy she harbored from her family.
As Mack hit the twenty-one mile mark, she tried not to focus on how badly she wanted to win. She didn’t want to win for herself, she wanted to win so her family would recognize her success. Her legs were beginning to hurt from the intensity of running so fast and hard and her mouth was dry from becoming dehydrated. Mackenzie never understood how she could be so dehydrated when the rest of her body glistened with beads of sweat. It was just something she had never taken the time to understand. Her eyes only focused on the stretch of road in front of her. She hadn’t stopped to take in the scenery or smile for the people on the sidelines; she just needed to keep going. For someone who was challenging their endurance, Mackenzie still managed to look pretty. She had a small strand of hair that had slipped from her ponytail and framed her face, her short black shorts complimented her long legs and toned ass, and her tank top clung to her slender frame. For this she felt lucky, a lot of people in the beginning didn’t look half as good as she did. However, Mack was aware that the pain she felt in her body would soon become unbearable. But Mackenzie didn’t know how to just ease up; she was going for what she wanted.
Running was an escape for Mackenzie, just like working on her car. She was able to stop thinking about everything in life and do what she wanted in that moment. However, after running for so long, it was hard to keep her mind completely empty. She kept thinking about how sweet victory would be and how ecstatic she was to soon see her friend’s smiling faces. Especially since it would be like her own little sea of pink watching and waiting. She couldn’t wait any longer to win and celebrate. Mackenzie was desperate to get a huge hug from Kona and Jenny for winning, to see the sign that Olive made her, and to smile brightly for James’s camera. These thoughts made her run faster, even though Mackenzie could feel that she was pushing her limit.
