Reason For Leaving

I'm going to be leaving this site. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here, the graphics, the layout and the concept. However, one thing has really turned me off coming here: the 'DATE, RAPE, MATE, KILL' game you guys have going on. If I would have looked around the games thread before I joined, I don't think I would have given the site a second glance. Jokes and games about rape normalise sexual violence. They lessen the severity of rape and make it seem more acceptable

[/u][/b]. People might think that it's edgy and ironic to joke about such things, but things like that are hurtful to people who have had to live with sexual violence.

Normally, I would have asked the admin via PM to delete a thread like 'date, rape, mate, kill', but it was the admin who made the thread... So doing that seems sort of hopeless.

Sorry to leave on such a bad note. I'd like to reiterate that I really do like the site; I simply can't think of why I'd want to spend my recreational time on a site where rape jokes are made. It's just wrong. [/justify]

You were more than welcome to pm either edi or i about the game. none of us think rape is a joking matter, however, if you were that disturbed or upset by it we could have easily retitled it or gotten rid of it. We're pretty reasonable people so if you want, you can rejoin and we'll just retitle/get rid of that game. Sorry for upsetting you in any way or form!

it's the title of the game on a lot of sites, so i guess some people don't take it as seriously as they should, if it bothered you so much you could have easily asked and we would have changed it and/or gotten rid of it. :) sorry for offending you.

edit: the old thread has since been deleted and a new one has been posted to not offend anyone else. sorry for the trouble.
