Today had drug on relentlessly and Haiden had been wishing it would just end. Not necessarily end but at least speed up. He had asked Hayley out on a date, well not really asked her out, she had asked him out and then he turned it around. Silly Haiden! Has no courage to ask a girl out. Well, they were going out regardless and he had spent all of an hour working out the details of where they were going so he spent the rest of time at work twiddling his thumbs. They were pretty busy but no one was really buying anything, they were all just looking at crap. There were times like this that he wished he had that little time moving necklace thing that Hermione had in the Harry Potter movies. Then again, she only made time move backwards not forward like he wanted it to, so he had to sit on his ass and deal with it. Of course waiting wasn't something Haiden did very well but he had to do it simply because seven pm would not come any faster if he were bouncing around like a moron.
Deacon had told him he was going to talk to Haiden about his little sister, but lucky for Haiden the other boy hadn't been in to work until after Haiden' shift. It wouldn't have been weird if they saw one another in passing and if Deacon had asked Haiden to stay, he wouldn't because he had things to do. Not to mention before getting ready to go out he had to pick Mason up, make sure his three little brothers had their homework done and James could cook for everyone. Of course he would help James cook a little bit but he had to shower and everything before going to pick Hayley up. The house was pretty hectic in those few hours between work and his date, but at least his brothers weren't too bad today. Mason was his typical hyper-active self but when Haiden said to sit down to do homework, the six year old did that. There was nothing in the world that Haiden would trade his brothers for, he loved them way too much to do that. No matter how crazy his life got with his family situation he wouldn't trade his life.
It took some time for him to shower and get dressed, he was just as bad as some girls at this rate. Checking the clock he had to pick Hayley up in half an hour and he wasn't even dressed yet. If he was late Haiden would be mad at himself because he promised his cousin they would be at the farm by eight for their little night time picnic. This idea had been floating around in his head for awhile but he hadn't had the opportunity to use it so why not now? Finding himself a pair of jeans and a nice button up shirt, he grabbed his keys as he darted out the door. The picnic basket was carefully hidden in the trunk of his car so Hayley wouldn't see it. Oh, yeah, he hadn't told Hayley where they were going yet so hopefully she wouldn't get mad. It was supposed to be a little cold tonight but he had grabbed four thick blankets for them in case they got really cold.
Finally he pulled up to her house and pulled into her driveway. Walking up to the door it took him a few seconds to finally knock on the door, hoping his nervousness wasn't obvious. The little rose in his hand was somewhat of a cheesy gesture but he was going to give her it anyway. Taking a deep breath he started to fidget as he waited, playing with the rose in his hand gently.

i don't mind if you don't mind, i don't shine if you don't shine before you jump tell me what you find. Today started no different than any other day for Hayley, she woke up early with the sound of her alarm buzzing in her ear before she pulled herself up out of her bed and walked out to take a shower. Sometimes she was sure that it was her shower that was the best time of her day. There was something that was just so nice and refreshing about having warm water cascade and roll over your body on a chilly morning. The young girl was quite quick with her shower, washing her hair and her body before turning off the water and stepping out into the foggy bathroom. She wrapped a towel around her slender frame then wiped some of the condensed water off of the mirror to look herself over and brush her hair as well. A bit of makeup was being applied onto her face as well before she allowed the towel to drop around her feet and she pulled on her underwear and began to examine her body in the mirror. Sighing a bit as she did so, she always just looked so large. Her thighs touched in the center and she just felt all around gross, today was going to be one of the days where she didn't eat very much she decided that all ready. However, quickly she pulled on her clothes and left the bathroom as her mother knocked on the door pestering to hurry up, she wasn't the only one that needed the bathroom after all!
Hayley left out the front door with her book bag and a mug of tea she had made and went off to school. Oh school. What a lovely place! But not actually. She sat in her classes, waiting and wishing for them to come to an end so she could head on home. Just like any other day. The lunch bell rang and she walked around the school, telling her friends that she had to talk to a few teachers about a few assignments or something. It wasn't the truth but they didn't seem to care very much, and before the brunette knew it the school bell was ringing once again telling everyone to get to their proper places for afternoon classes. It stretched on forever for the girl, it didn't help very much that she was in history class either, but at last, it all came to an end and she was free to go home! As soon as she arrived she laid herself on her bed with a bit of a sigh, planning to catch a few hours of sleep to restore her energy a bit. Sleep didn't come easily, but different thoughts did…one of them drifting off to Haiden. Honestly, she didn't know that it was an actual date that the two of them were going on or whatever, she just thought it was a little hang out! hopefully that wouldn't be too much of a problem!
Finally the young girl heard a knock on the door and she pulled herself from her bed rubbing her eyes a bit (careful not to smear her makeup, of course!) and ran her fingers through her hair trying to tidy herself up a bit. It turns out she ended up falling asleep after all! She opened the door with a bit of a smile on her face, "Hi Haiden!" Hayley greeted as she pulled on her jacket and boots for the second time that day, before eventually her blue eyes shifted down to the flower in his hand. Oh. Oh dear. This was a date. Play it cool, Hayley. She told herself before looking up at the male, "Where are we going?"

The look on her face made him know she really didn't believe him that he was making this a real date. She had figured they were going to hang out, just like all the other girls he had gone out with and yeah, it bugged him a bit but oh well. "You thought I was joking," he laughed gently, shaking his head as he played it off a bit. He stepped back so she could walk with him to his car, opening the door for her once there since it did stick a little bit. His car wasn't that old but for some reason it was beginning to break down on him. Haiden loved his Stratus, it wasn't that big of a car but he loved it no matter what happened to it. James kept trying to convince his younger brother to get rid of the car but Haiden refused to. At least it would get them to the farm and back again safely, he hoped.
"That is still a secret," he smiled lightly as he finally climbed into the drivers seat. "Don't worry, it's not that far and it's not dangerous." He laughed again as he drove off, heading towards the highway. The drive to the country was a good hour, at most, but during the day time it was extremely pretty. The farms that they passed were huge, pretty much like old plantations but they were just farms. Lots of corn, cows and even a few horse farms dotted the scenery. In the fall, Haiden's favorite time of year, the colors of the trees surrounding the highway were amazing. Bright reds, yellows, and in the summer green. Whenever they had to take the ride to visit his cousin they would always take the longer route simply for the scenery but at night, it was useless. At night the long way just made the ride way longer and way more annoying because you couldn't see anything. "How was school? I haven't been back to that place since I dropped out," he asked gently with a shake of his head. Dropping out had been the best thing he had ever done. Hopefully he wouldn't regret it later on.
After a bit he pulled into the long driveway and then turned off into an open field. The field had been empty for awhile, outside of being a hay field, so this would be the perfect spot for their picnic. "Ok, now that we're here. This is my cousins place, and we're going to have a picnic under the stars." He was such a cheesy teenager but hell, it was Haiden. He was hard to hate and even easier to love with his silliness. Digging the blankets out he put two on the ground to sit on, set the basket of food on them and then placed his butt on the blankets once she was sitting down. "Alright, so, we have everything possible to eat, courtesy of my brother asking me over and over again what you like to eat. You name it I have it." He laughed with a shake of his head, setting the blankets between them. What an idiot he was, he forgot a jacket so now he was freezing his butt off but he wasn't going to show it unless he really got cold.

i don't mind if you don't mind, i don't shine if you don't shine before you jump tell me what you find. ]Here Hayley had thought she had been so coy about it all and Haiden wouldn't have picked up the expression on her face. However, as soon as he commented on it, she realized he had noticed. Darn it! That probably seemed awfully rude, it wasn't like she didn't want to go on a date with him or anything, it was just a bit unexpected! The female laughed a little bit and ran her fingers through the loose waves in her hair, assuming that everything was looking at least half decent by now. "I did not think you were joking!" she stated, picking up her house keys off of the table by the door, locking the door and following the older boy out to the car. "Thanks!" Hayley said when he opened the door and she sat herself down inside and pulled the seat belt over her body, really quite thankful for the warmth the car provided. It really was quite a chilly night; at least it was February now though. Soon enough the sun would be shining and the snow would be melting away and it would be summer time!
The female pouted a bit when she was told that it was still a secret, surprises never went very well for her, but to avoid being annoying or anything she kept silent, just accepting that fact as she pressed her head against the window of his car. Lovely country scenery flying by out the window, not that she could actually see too much of it since it was dark and all, but you get the picture. "School was fine," she replied covering a yawn turning a bit to look across at him while he was driving. "Nothing's really changed I don't think you need to worry about it too much."
Feeling the car stop, Hayley undid her seat belt and jumped out of the vehicle, moving out in the snow listening to the dark haired boy speak. "Aw, Haiden that is so sweet of you," she commented flashing him a smile as she tucked her hands into her pockets. On the outside she seemed happy about the whole thing, but deep down under it all it worried her a bit. A picnic? She was doing so well today as far as her eating went, up to this point she had only consumed that tea from earlier that morning and a biscuit when she got home from school and her mom was harassing her. The older woman really did want her to eat more but she had told her mom that on this date with Haiden he was taking her out to dinner so she shouldn't fill up! Oh well. This shouldn't be too much of a problem, it was easy to get around these sort of situations, she had done it before there wasn't a doubt in her mind that she couldn't do it again. "A picnic! Wow, that's so great!" She laughed a bit and lowered herself down on the blankets, the key was to ask a lot of questions, and to cut everything up into small bits. If you asked enough questions no one seemed to really notice that you didn't take a bite of anything. Offer them the food claiming that it was simply delicious and it went unnoticed! Cautiously the female reached into the basket and pulled out little container of what appeared to be vegetables. "Your brother did this all for you?"

There was no doubt in Haiden's mind that she had thought he was joking about it being a date, that seemed to be a trend in his life. Girls always thought he was joking about going on a date until the time actually came to go on said date. Then it's 'Oh! Sorry'. Whatever, he was going to at least make this a pleasurable hangout if anything. The air was surprisingly cold now that they were sitting outside in the dark except for the little light he had managed to nab from James' room, and he needed a blanket. Now it was to the point he was shivering so he set the blanket around his shoulders and watched her. "I'm actually glad I quit school, made my life way easier and I can get my diploma way faster. But I may go back, I'm not sure yet," he shrugged a bit. Of course he wanted to go back to school and see everyone, but at the same time he was glad for the break from the mass amounts of drama that came with high school.
"Yeah, James got a little creative, and everytime I went to help him he yelled at me and told me to get out of the kitchen," he laughed with a shake of his head. "James just likes it when I get out of the house so he does everything that he can to make sure I stay out for awhile. I'm always home taking care of my little brothers so he likes it when I go out." Haiden shook his head again gently, a soft smile on his face as he stretched his long legs out. He absolutely loved his brothers, all of them, and he would do whatever it takes to ensure their safety. The only downfall to having to take care of his little brothers was the time lost and the fact he didn't hang out with his friends as much, especially when it came to dating. Haiden rarely went out on dates, even dates that weren't romantic at all, because he was always at home helping out with caring for his little brothers. It wasn't a chore but it wasn't a blessing.
He took a peek at what James had packed, he pulled out a sandwich for himself and started to eat it slowly. He picked at it more than he ate it, but he was getting there. "I think it's way too hot out here," he joked with a shake of his head as he looked over at her. Hayley was so pretty, but if he were to ever go after her he was pretty sure that Deacon would kill him. No joke, Deacon would strangle him because he was going after his little sister. Of course, Haiden wasn't a bad guy so maybe he wouldn't get angry if anything were to happen between the pair. "Oh, and, I brought some of my personal stash." he grabbed the little cooler, setting it down in front of them so they could have a drink or four. Haiden wouldn't drink a lot because he had to drive them back home, but Hayley could drink if she wanted. At least he would have one beer, which he sipped on a bit as they sat there.

i don't mind if you don't mind, i don't shine if you don't shine before you jump tell me what you find. Hayley wasn't actually sure how she felt about the fact that Haiden dropped out of school, I mean sure, she didn't like being in the place very much but she wasn't sure if it was to the point of where she would want to just go ahead and drop it. It seemed so strange to her in a way. Just because she hated it with just about every bone in her body some days she couldn't see herself dropping out, there was just somethings you have to sit down and deal with and get through them. Plus she couldn't even imagine what her family would do if she dropped out, let alone what she would do all day. it just seemed like it would have been so boring! In response to him the brunette shrugged her shoulders a little bit, "I don't know, do whatever you want. You know though, it's not exactly your diploma you get unless you go back to school." She may have been young but she wasn't stupid or whatever. Your diploma and GED were two different things.
As he explained about his brother she nodded her head a bit, the whole thing was almost a bit amusing; a smile had found its way onto her face. It was very clear that it was an amused expression! Not that she was laughing at Haiden or anything like that, it was just that she got the image of Deacon in her head packing her a little picnic lunch to take on a date or something. That would never happen. Her older brother was always so busy working or with school or something, even with his kids on the rare occasion. She couldn't really blame him, she guessed. Stuff happens. "Ah, I see." Hayley licked her lips and pushed some of her hair from her face and looked up at the night sky watching a few of the stars twinkle up above them. It wasn't long before her plumbago blue eyes landed on an airplane, following it until it vanished out of site. Oh those airplanes. She was pretty sure no matter where in the world you were they would always be up there flying who knows who to who knows where in the world. It almost was enough to make her wonder what it would have been like to live a hundred years ago when planes weren't really around!
The mention of alcohol was something that worried her almost as much as all the food did. Alcohol had a lot of sugar in it. Sugar meant fat. Fat meant that Hayley would have gained even more weight and just been massive! Something she did not want at all, so instead of going in for it right now she simply nodded her head. "Oh, all right. If I decide I want something I'll go for it." Avoid, avoid, avoid. That was the name of the game right now. She took out a sandwich and ripped off a bit of it, starting to raise it to her mouth before she stopped and put it back in her lap as she opened her mouth to ask "Oh! What did you do today! Tell me all about it!" See? She was pretty good at this subject and distraction thing!

It was a little obvious that Hayley was avoiding eating but Haiden most certainly would not say anything. He didn't want to ruin this little hang out/date so he wouldn't speak a word of the obvious. The little puzzle pieces were beginning to come together about her always saying she was fat, which she wasn't, and he was beginning to understand what was going on. Ok, maybe not understand from her point of view because he wasn't like that, but he knew what she was doing. Shaking his head lightly at her question, he shrugged. "It really wasn't an exciting day, really. I had to work but I managed to avoid your brother because he came in after I left and there was no one really buying anything today so I was really just kinda chilling out instead of working," he laughed, shaking his head again. Working at the music store was really all chilling out and no work if you thought about it. I mean, Haiden sat on his ass unless he was re-stringing a guitar or two or had to go grab something for a customer.
The job was not a hard one, which is why Haiden liked it so much but he was eventually going to quit if his own music went anywhere. "Then I picked up Mason, went home, did some more chilling other than making sure my brothers did their homework, got a shower and came to get you. And now I'm here, in the middle of a field with you watching the stars." He smiled a bit as he picked apart his sandwich, actually finding it good. See, sometimes James did have really good ideas and other times he had really stupid ones. This one was a good one, especially considering Haiden hadn't eaten before he left to get Hayley so he was a little hungry. Shaking his head at his thoughts he looked up at her, watching her watch the stars. "What have you been doing with your life other than school? Unless you're becoming a closet nerd and are studying your life away and going to an occasional party." He smirked, having always thought of Hayley as being a closet nerd.
It wasn't that Hayley screamed nerd, she didn't at all actually, she just seemed like one of those girls who went to a party or two a week but spent the rest of her time studying. Thinking about it he knew she wasn't because she liked to sleep just as much as he did, and if she was anything like Deacon from what Haiden had seen, she slept a lot. There were times when Deacon came to work and he seemed like he hadn't slept at all but in fact he had been sleeping almost all day. Hayley probably wasn't like that, she didn't seem like that at least but Haiden didn't seem like that either. He could sleep all day if he wanted to, work and his brothers usually inhibiting that. Thinking of his brothers he remembered Mason needed to take his cough medicine before bed so he quickly texted James before putting his phone away. That annoyed Haiden on dates or when he was hanging out with someone. If someone was constantly texting someone else while attempting to have a conversation with Haiden he would get pretty pissed off about it. It was very close to being outright obnoxious. "If you get cold there's a blanket beside you or you can share mine," he offered, giving a nonchalant shrug with the slightest of smiles.

i don't mind if you don't mind, i don't shine if you don't shine before you jump tell me what you find. Had Hayley known that Haiden was catching on to everything and slowly piece together what was going on, she would have tried a bit harder and put in more of an effort to hide the whole thing. Or maybe if she could read minds and had known she would have thanked the boy for not bringing it up and saying anything. It always made for an awkward conversation when someone asked if she had a problem (because it did happen from time to time!) she would always deny and deny and deny. That's all she really could do. A smile moved across her face as she listened to Haiden speak, it was certainly a good thing to hear that he had avoided her brother! Not that Deacon wasn't some sort of beast, she just couldn't imagine what the male would say, he didn't really seem like the type that would go on and on about how on this date Haiden could not deflower his little sister. He seemed a bit too…naive almost for something like that? She wasn't too sure what to call it. "Oh, well that's always a good thing, that you avoided my brother and all. i don't even know what he would say, I just picture it being super embarrassing!" She laughed a bit to show that she was kidding around a bit, "That sucks though, you never seem to do very much at work. Maybe you could find a second job or something to keep you more busy? Or….I don't know. I guess you are sort of busy with your siblings." She managed to cut herself off before she rambled too much!
And he kept going on about his day, Hayley only nodded her head every now and again to show that she was into it and interested. She was almost a bit envious of how interesting his life seemed to be, she herself never really did too much. The female would come home from school and then pretty much sit around and not do much of anything, maybe sleep a bit to gain some energy from not eating, watching some TV maybe work on a bit of homework if she felt like it. A lot more used to be going on back when her sister and her brother were at home, but now as they moved out things became more silent and boring. Such was life. "Nothing really," Hayley said with a sigh, "I need to start looking for a job I think, to have something to do so I can have some extra spending cash…and I need to work on getting my drivers licence. That will come in handy sometime I'm sure. it will save me from having to take the bus everywhere!" The fact that Haiden thought she was becoming a closet nerd or something was a bit hilarious!
The male's next question caused the female to arch her eyebrow up a bit, before she shrugged, putting the rest of her sandwich down on a plate. She was giving up on eating it. Hayley was certain that she could distract Haiden enough with conversation so he wasn't too concerned about it! She wrapped one of the blankets that was close to her around her frame before she moved closer to the older male and leaned against his chest, welcoming the body heat. Even though she was bundled up, the chill in the air was starting to get to her. "Thanks," Hayley started titling her head up a bit so that he could look up at the male with her blue eyes, "You know, for taking me out here and bringing all of this food and stuff. It's just great!"

Haiden laughed gently as she went on about Deacon talking to him about the whole baby sister dating thing. Honeslty, he wouldn't have minded so much as long as Deacon didn't do the whole 'don't screw my baby sister or I'll cut your little buddies off' deal because that, honestly, just got crazy amounts of boring. He had heard that record too many times and just wished people would stop talking about it. Hayley made him laugh at the thought of Deacon embarrassing her, saying, "It's not like he'd pull out old baby pictures of you naked on a black bear rug or something. It's probably just going to be him saying 'Oh well, don't get Hail's prego and don't do stupid shit and blah blah blah.'" He attempted to deepen his voice but that was kind of hard since his voice was a little higher than most guys yet deep. Actually, it made him sound funny when he deepened his voice so he just laughed a bit more.
The thoughts of a second job weren't too far from Haiden's thought process as it was but he didn't have time for another job. "A second job isn't too out there for me but the issue is I already work a shit load of hours at the music store and I really do get paid a lot of money there. I started working there back when I was thirteen so I get a nice check each week," his smile was a little lopsided as he thought about it. God, a second job would leave him with having no time and only make him tired. He barely slept as it was and when he did sleep, he really slept his day away. Nice thing about not going to school, he got to actually sleep in unless he had to open at the store. "Like, the first year you have your drivers license you want to go everywhere and then you have to start paying for gas and it's like, screw this. I went everywhere when I got my license, I always drove to parties and such because I could afford the gas. I still can but the prices are too high for me to care." Gas prices were a little high for his liking so if he could walk somewhere he did, if not he tried his best to conserve gas.
"And you're quite welcome," he murmured gently and rest his arms on her legs when she leaned against his chest, keeping the blanket around himself. "It's a lot cooler than I thought it was going to be, sorry. I would have planned something a little different if I had known/" Having her this close made him that much more warm since he had been pretty cold with just the blanket. Then again, moron here had forgotten a jacket in general! Turning his head a bit so he could look down at her, he tilted his head some so he could actually see her whole face if she were to look up at him. "Not the best date in the world but are you at least enjoying yourself?"

i don't mind if you don't mind, i don't shine if you don't shine before you jump tell me what you find. Gosh, Haiden was so silly! It wasn't like she thought her brother would whip out those sort of pictures and embarrass her that way, she just…I don't know. It was sort of hard to explain. When it came to her parties and guys she kind of sort of (but not really) dated she sort of left her brother in the dark. And her parents, and he sister too. It just felt better if none of them knew and she gave off the image that she was some sort of innocent angel when in reality she was pretty far from that. Oh well, she didn't want to allow them to see the truth or else it would most likely be a whole lot harder to sneak out of the house and that would just be bad! "Well I know!" she said taking some of her hair and twirling it around her finger, "But I just don't really tell him what I do in my spear time with dates and stuff. He is usually left in the dark! Do you see what I mean about embarrassing?"
Puzzled she was when Haiden had mentioned he started working there when he was thirteen, she was pretty sure that most places didn't take on a person to work until they were at least sixteen! Like there were laws against that, or so she thought anyway, Hayley didn't bother so say anything about it though, she was sort of a lazy girl in case you didn't notice! It was much easier to not say anything about it at all and just nod your head a little bit. "Yeah," she finally stated, covering a yawn, "You probably shouldn't take a second job or quit or whatever if you like it! Then you would have like zero spare time." And everyone wanted their spare time to sleep, or just do whatever they wanted. They were just teenagers after all! She didn't really know what Haiden meant when he was going on about gas, could you blame her? It wasn't as if she did have a car of her own that needed filling up every now and again and she didn't keep up with current events in the world either! "Oh, yeah, my parents were complaining about how expensive it is!" Hayley had, however listened to them complain about how the prices were skyrocketing, thank goodness they had decent jobs!
"It's okay, Haiden! It's not that bad out," that had been a bit of an understatement, it was pretty chilly out but the female was starting to feel a bit more warm being this close to the male. Plus, looking up at the stars and getting so see so many of them sort of made up for the whole cold thing. It was beautiful, there was just so many of them twinkling and dancing up in the sky. A rather light, but content sigh fell from her lips as she looked from the sky back at Haiden, "Yeah, it's nice," it probably wasn't the best answer in the world, but it was how she was truly feeling. "Thanks for bringing me out here."

"I promise I will only repeat anything that is embarrassing to you so you can beat him up," he laughed lightly, shaking his head. "I do see how it could be embarrassing but you also have to remember, he's doing what big brothers are supposed to do. I protect my brothers no matter what the situation is, he's just trying to protect you." He smiled a bit as he watched her, knowing exactly how she felt. James had done it multiple times when Haiden was younger, he was still doing it to this day and it got on Haiden's nerves but James was just looking out for his little brother. He noticed her getting a little quiet at his mention of working at the guitar shop at thirteen and he chuckled a bit. Shaking his head, he said gently, "I wasn't on the payroll, it was under the table. When I turned fifteen and had working papers he put me on the payroll." The guy that owned the music store had always treated Haiden well, he treated all of his employees well so Haiden wasn't leaving any time soon.
Having another job would take up all of Haiden's time and it was something he didn't want. It was hard enough having to work at the music store nearly every day and then having to take care of his little brothers when he got home. If he had the chance to work a night shift he did, but those were rare since the other guys in school needed the night shifts. The extra cash would be awesome, it might be a little too much cash but it would help him in some way. "You don't drive so you don't have to worry about it," he chuckled with a shake of his head. He knew Hayley didn't drive so she wouldn't really understand what it was like to pay four dollars a gallon for gas but eventually she would. Gas was the one thing that he hated to buy because he was constantly buying it when he was going between Ridgewood and Ocean City. Now he just walked to work for the most part. The store was all of a mile or so away from his house so it didn't take him long to walk to work and if he wanted something to eat from home, he just walked his ass back there.
"You lie, it's pretty damned cold out," he smiled and tightened the blanket around them to hopefully warm them up. It would be awesome if the weather finally broke to allow warmth to flood the area, and Haiden could go to the beach! Oh he waited for the day he could walk into the water and just chill out. If there was one thing Haiden loved it was the beach, especially the beaches that weren't so over-populated in the summer. "No problem, I like to come up with interesting ways to take people out. I like to come out here in the summer and sit outside at night. All of the crickets and frogs are out making noises and it's really relaxing." He smiled a bit and rest his chin on her shoulder, tucking his cold nose against the warmer part of her neck and waited for her reaction with a smirk.

i don't mind if you don't mind, i don't shine if you don't shine. before you jump tell me what you find. It may have sounded bad but there was part of Hayley that wondered what else Haiden had in store for this evening. I mean, despite her young age she did spend enough time at parties to know that most guys wanted more than to just chill under the night sky and have a "romantic" evening if you will. This was something that girls just sort of dreamed that their boyfriends would do for them. Too good to be true. Not that Haiden wasn't a nice guy or anything, she was sure that he was, but when it came down to it he was still a guy and for the most part guys really did only want one thing. There was no way the young brunette would voice this fact however! It was too bad, and she would most likely end up offending him if she did so, in turn Hayley did what any girl would have done in this situation when they had their suspicions; she just remained silent. If he started to get too friendly it was only then when she would move away or demand that he took her home. It just depends how bad it got.
She pushed those thoughts from her head and looked up at him with a smile, "Yeah, I can only imagine that it is relaxing!" she replied, the night was nice and all but eventually she was growing bored…and then all of a sudden Haiden's nose was on her neck! Oh goodness. That was one of the "too friendly" moments that she had previously been thinking about! She guessed it wasn't too bad though, it could have been worse! He could have gone for the make out or something, that would have been a bit uncomfortable if she did say so herself. Hayley laughed a bit and wiggled out of Haiden's arms to stand up. "Though sometimes relaxing get's boring. Have you ever danced under the night sky!" She herself hadn't it seemed like a good chance to try it though, not only would it have been fun, but it most likely would have warmed them up too! Both pluses in her eyes. "Give me your keys! I'll start it so we can listen to the radio!"
Eventually, she did get her hands on the keys and opened the drivers side of Haiden's vehicle turned them in the ignition until the music started to play. Hayley took a moment to turn up the volume, unroll the window and slammed the door shut before turning around to look at the older male with a grin on her face, she was quite proud of what she had done. Soon enough she was moving to the beat of the music, just sort of letting it move through her, almost becoming a part of her. "Come on, Haiden! Let's dance!"

Haiden wasn't after anything from Hayley tonight, he just wanted to have a good time. It didn't help that he was extremely snuggly as a person so that probably caused her to think that way. Had she told him off about it or said what she was thinking he wouldn't have been happy at all. That would have ended their date right then and there, quite possibly hurt their friendship for awhile. It wasn't in Haiden to be after ass all the time. Granted, he loved sex but he wasn't going to be a man whore about it. At those thoughts he picked his head up to look out into the darkness beyond the reach of his headlights and just stared in thought for a bit. Hayley was talking but he wasn't sure what she was saying since he was off in Haiden-land.
Then she stood up. Snapping his head back around to look at her in surprise, he listened to her talk about dancing under the stars and then she wanted his keys. Ok, where did he put his keys? Good question because Haiden didn't even know where the hell he put his keys. That was a common thing with this teenager, he lost things all the time, especially his keys. Squirming a bit as he checked his pockets he finally found them, handing them to her. Hayley was so silly, only she would think of dancing underneath the stars in the middle of a giant field on a farm in the middle of the boondocks. Haiden could only laugh when the music turned on and she started to dance, so he stood up with a long stretch. "You're a goof, you know that?" He laughed still and started to dance with her softly. It was a good idea, he couldn't deny that, getting up and dancing instead of sitting on their asses twiddling their thumbs. Damn the girl could dance! Haiden had been to many a party with her and had danced with her before but he had never really noticed it. Haiden was good, just not amazing since he had never actually taken dance lessons and he preferred to be on a couch at parties.
"There is a party tonight up in the hills," he said gently, remembering hearing someone mention the parties that were going on up there this weekend. He called the place the hills, so did some other people, but it was just the suburban area of Ridgewood to the North. "We can go there if you want." Haiden wouldn't protest going to the party but he also wasn't all for it, either. Naturally he didn't want to go simply because he was enjoying himself for once. The last time Haiden actually enjoyed himself was awhile ago when he went back to Ocean City the first time. Looking down at Hayley with a light smile, he looked up when the radio cut off the song and someone started talking about an accident on one of the main highways. "Looks like we're taking the long way home."

i don't mind if you don't mind, i don't shine if you don't shine. before you jump tell me what you find. Hayley laughed a bit as she heard Haiden's comment on how she was a goof. Well, that wasn't something she hadn't heard before! Usually she was quite chill and laid back, but every now and again she would have her moments where she would stand up and be silly. Honestly, it happened more often when she was at a party and had been you know, under the influence of something, but it did happen every now and again when she was sober. This was a prime example of one of those moments! It was pretty nice if she did say so herself. "I know!" she replied with a bit of a nod. What else could she do? She couldn't deny it, that would have seemed so stupid…hypocritical almost as she stood there under the night sky being quite silly herself.
She spun around in circles, her hair finding its way to be in her face, but it wasn't something that bothered her because in a matter of seconds her brunette locks would be out of her face again when she spun for a second time or tossed her head back and looked up at the deep dark blue sky almost admiring the stars twinkling in the sky in those few brief seconds. This was really something special, it was just a moment that was so beautiful it was probably one that she would remember for quite some time. Almost like it was something on her bucket list or something! Though soon enough her dancing had come to an end as the song had stopped playing and the radio DJ began to talk. Oh the downfalls of the radio, if only she had a CD to pop in or something! That would have been a lot better in this case. She laughed a bit, "I guess we are taking the long way home! Oh well, it will be okay!?' Maybe in a sense it was good that they had the radio on or maybe they would have never found out about the accident and they would be stranded in a long line for traffic for a long time which was just plain irritating.
Hayley did however realize that she had sort of dismissed Haiden's comment about the party, mostly because she had been distracted by dancing and then what the radio was telling her, but now she was back on track and ready to respond to that! Oh she could just be quite the scatter brain every now and again. "A party?!" she laughed a bit, shaking her head, "I don't know if we should go, that sounds a bit crazy! Especially when I have school tomorrow you know, Mister." As she talked she made her way back over to the boy, placing her hands on his chest follow by he head. "Maybe we can go another time, yeah? Like on a weekend?"

The thought of just being able to chill out instead of going to that party would be awesome. Hayley seemed to like the idea so he wouldn't disagree, especially when he was enjoying himself as much as he was. Dancing under the stars was pretty entertaining to say the least, he was pretty happy she had come up with the idea. It was a lot better than sitting there not doing anything. "The long way home isn't a bad thing, just add on about twenty minutes to our travel time here. It's a really long way," he shrugged lightly with a shake of his head, knowing it might not take them as long since it was getting late. The later it got the less people wanted to be out on the roads since they were pretty dark without street lights.
"That's fine with me, I don't mind just chillin out," he smiled a bit and softly let his hands rest at her waist. He didn't want to lead her to think he was being fresh or anything so it was best just to do that. A slow song came on and he gently began to sway along to the soft beat, taking her right hand as he did. "Thanks for coming out with me, Hails. It's nice to just spend some time with someone, even if it's not romantic in anyway." He chuckled a bit and let his chin fall against the top of her head a bit. Not being romantic was something that he thought he could never do or be like. Romantic in the sense of attempting to get in her pants, or trying to convince her she should be his girlfriend. Now he knew he had the power to be exactly that way so maybe it would be easier for him to have more 'fun' dates. Haiden had a habit of calling all times where just a guy and a girl went out dates, whether they were or not. It was a weird thing he did but oh well, he wouldn't bother breaking it.
"You should just skip school tomorrow. That's the one reason I'm glad I dropped out, at least for this year. I can just chill out and not have to worry about homework, tests, getting up in the morning. And drama. Thank god there's no drama," he laughed lightly as he spoke. The amount of drama that went on in the town was ridiculous but he didn't have to worry too much about the drama going on within the walls of the high school. Oh no, he just went along with life when he wasn't at school and he just had to work, that was it. Well, he had to take care of his brothers too but that was something he had to do everyday whether he was in school or not. His brothers were more important to him than anything or anyone else. If they weren't feeling good or something was wrong with them, he skipped school anyway. Lucky enough for him the school somewhat knew of his situation so they just let him be with the whole absence thing as long as he kept his grades up.
