PERSONALITY SUMMARY: SWEET , Deacon couldn’t be sweeter if you put a handful of cinnamon hearts in his mouth. He cares about everyone and anyone and always puts others first. He listens to the worlds sorrows and just cares them with him. He doesn’t really understand how to help himself but he figures that if he can help just one other person feel better than him then he’ll eventually get better. There isn’t much he won’t do for other people either.
FRIENDLY , He’s the kind of person that can easily blend into a crowd of people, with some help of course. Dea is really easy to talk to once you can get him into a conversation. He’ll always ask you how your day is, comment on your lovely appearance, or wonder about how you did on your last assignment. He’s got a relatively permanent smile on his face; whether that’s for him or the world he’s not really too sure. But he does love to talk to others and socialize when he can.
SOCIALLY AWKWARD , Even though Deacon is a really sweet and friendly guy, he doesn’t always know how to talk to other people. He’s been so used to only having to talk to five people really in his life that he almost forgets how to socialize with anyone who he doesn’t consider his family. He can get nervous almost flighty at times over having to talk to others. Regardless, he tries really hard to do his best and to keep a conversation with others even if he can be a little weird and “out there” at times.
INTROVERTED , He loves to talk to people, hang out and have friends but he’s very much a hermit and being socially awkward doesn’t exactly help him with that. For the most part, Deacon does keep to himself. Where ever he is, he’s alone. He doesn’t do parties and has never been the type to go to them. He’d much rather lock himself up in his apartment or the library and just do school work. He doesn’t really do much aside from hanging out with his own family and Emily’s family from time to time. However, once he’s in a situation where he needs to be outgoing he sure tries his hardest to be that person for other people.

HISTORY SUMMARY: Growing up deacon had a pretty normal life. His parents had normal jobs with no extraordinary purpose. He had a couple sisters in his life eventually, a pair that he loves dearly and would do anything for them. Dea had always been a really quiet child, someone that people came to when they were bored and just wanted someone to talk to. No one would ever really come to him for party ideas or to see who was throwing one. That was always just the kind of kid he was; stuck in the back of the classroom just doing his own work. If it was music class he would be in the back once again but this time a guitar or bass stuck to his fingers. Music was really one of the only things he ever really dove into full heartedly.
Emily and Deacon pretty much grew up together; although they were from two very separate crowds. Emily was one of those party girls who had all the friends in the world – yet for some reason she was always coming to him and hanging out with him. Deacon never really understood it at the time but when grade eight rolled around, they started dating. They dated throughout all of High School as well. Dea couldn’t have ever imagined finding such a perfect and loving girl as Emily and doted on her at every moment he could; almost to the point where she’d glow red of embarrassment. He was never shy about showing how much he cared for her.
When they turned nineteen, Deacon and Emily ran off to Vegas and got married. Although it wasn’t the kind of wedding their parents pictured, there was no real argument about it. Everyone figured they would have gotten married regardless; it was just a matter of when. When they returned from Vegas, everything was the same, nothing really changed in their attitudes toward one another. They were still very much in love, and very much together. After a few months Emily was pregnant with their first child – Kalea. Not only was Deacon a great husband, he was an amazing father to Kalea and spent as much time as he possibly could with his little princess.
After a year of being married, Deacon started to see some terrible brewing with Emily. He wasn’t exactly sure what was going on with her and she wasn’t talking much about what was going on (which scared him worse). Dea just pushed it off saying that she probably just wanted to enjoy her freedoms from being pregnant and such. He never questioned her. Emily just started coming home late every night, she stank of booze and everything but the kitchen sink. It was really very worrying to him but of course he just kept quiet and told her how much he loved her.
Deacon started college to become a music teacher. He really had no idea what else he would do with his love of music. So what better to do than that? He loved it. He would come home smiling and singing and just drill on with his homework. Emily was working at the bakery; she still had no idea what she wanted to do with her life. About two years after Kalea was born, Emily was pregnant again and this time gave birth to a boy who they named Oliver. Deacon couldn’t have been happier with himself or Emily. They were living that dream that everyone else wished they could. High School sweethearts, married, with a boy and girl holding each hand – he couldn’t have been more proud of himself.
Six months after the birth of their son, he woke up and Emily and his children were gone. He just assumed they went to get groceries or something, but, as four hours turned to five and he wasn’t getting an answer on Emily’s cell; frankly he started to freak out. He called his parents, called Emily parents and they had no idea. Deacon sat waiting by the phone hoping for a call or even a text message. Eventually he got it. Apparently Emily didn’t want to be home anymore, she didn’t love him, wanted a divorce and she took their children with them. It pretty much shattered Deacon; he had no idea what it was that he did wrong. He called his and Emily’s parents and told them what she had sent.
Every once and a while, Deacon will get a picture or a phone call from Emily so that he can talk and see his kids but the man couldn’t feel more broken than if he was hit by a freight train. He didn’t drop out of school though. He slapped on that smile and continued with his classes. If his wife and kids were going to leave him, he had to keep with the one thing that did make him happy aside from that. It doesn’t help that he knows everyone else knows about his failure in family life. So now, after finishing up his college classes, Deacon goes home and drinks himself to sleep. He really doesn’t know how to cope otherwise.
