The moment Elliot said 'I love you' James' heart decided to skip about seven beats and it took everything he had not to flip out in joy. He knew she probably meant it in a non-romantic way so he just smiled a bit and nodded when she finally said he was the big brother. Of course his heart sank and his mood quickly followed for a brief few moments, eyes telling it all. Hopefully Elliot didn't see it and he just smiled, giving a nod. "Thanks, I guess," he shrugged. Man, how long was it going to take before he finally grew the balls to tell her how he felt. If he ever did he felt like he would lost her completely, as a friend, as a possible girl, just as being there. Even worse than that, he would lose Issy and he loved that little girl as if she were his own daughter.
Shaking his head clear of his thoughts he managed to come back to Earth when Elli agreed to letting him take Issy to the indoor water park. Mason would be so incredibly happy that they would be going and that Issy would be coming with them. "It'll be fun, and I promise I'll take you too one day, but you have to be a good girl." He laughed with a shake of his head, knowing Elliot might not enjoy his little joke. James was like his younger brother, he joked around too much and got upset if someone got mad at him for being a goof. Elli was usually pretty good with his stupid crap but every once in awhile he would say something that she wasn't too fond of. At least he had learned in a general sense what not to say a long time ago so he didn't offend her too often. James picked on Ellie a lot but he meant it all in a good way, he didn't mean for any of it to hurt her because he would probably feel horrible if he ever hurt Elliot. "Here we are," he said lightly and pulled the bags off his wrist, dropping them into the trunk of his car.
"Plus, the rabbit won't bite Issy or anything. There's no training involved." Gosh, training a dog was a lot of hours spent with the animal and if you weren't consistent, the dog did whatever it pleased. A bunny for Issy would be the best choice since Elliot would at least have some time to take care of the little thing. Unlocking his car he climbed into it, reaching into the back and pulled up the crate of movies. "Find one if you wish or we can stop at my house since we have to pass it anyway," he smiled gently at her. Stopping at his house wasn't a bad idea since he could drop off the boxes without Mason seeing them. Before he thought too much about it he just headed towards her place, glad there wasn't too much traffic around yet.
